More than 78 percent of website traffic in the UAE comes from mobile devices in 2026, and on certain verticals (food delivery, hospitality, beauty, retail) the mobile share exceeds 88 percent. Despite this, the majority of Dubai websites we audit are still designed desktop-first and squeezed down to mobile as an afterthought, which produces sites that look fine on a 27-inch monitor but bleed conversions on the iPhone and Samsung devices where the actual customer lives. At Azizi Technologies LLC we have been building mobile-first websites for Dubai brands since 2014, with from AED 1,800 starting price for a focused mobile-first redesign of an existing site and from AED 2,500 for a new mobile-first build. Mobile-first design is not just responsive design - it is a fundamentally different design philosophy that starts the Figma artboard at 375 pixels wide (iPhone SE width, still the smallest target device we design for in 2026) and progressively enhances up to tablet (768 pixels) and desktop (1280 pixels and 1920 pixels) breakpoints. Standard scope on a mobile-first redesign covers Figma design at iPhone 15 (393 pixels), Samsung Galaxy S24 (360 pixels) and iPhone SE (375 pixels) breakpoints first, then progressive enhancement to tablet and desktop with two revision rounds; thumb-zone optimisation placing primary calls-to-action in the easy-reach zone (bottom-third of the screen on portrait orientation), keeping secondary controls in the medium-reach zone (middle-third), and reserving the hard-reach zone (top-third) for branding and identity only; mobile navigation rebuild with hamburger menu replaced or supplemented by a sticky bottom tab bar on conversion-critical sites (Home, Services, WhatsApp, Call) where the bottom tab bar delivers 30 to 50 percent more navigation events than a hidden hamburger; sticky mobile WhatsApp button deep-linked to wa.me/971557530104 with a pre-filled context message, sticky call button with tel: link, and a sticky form CTA on lead-gen sites; mobile-optimised form field design with proper input modes (tel, email, numeric), Touch ID and Face ID autofill compatibility, large tap targets (44 pixel minimum per Apple HIG, 48 pixel per Material Design), reduced field count (3 fields maximum on cold traffic), and country code pre-populated to UAE +971 on phone fields with a clear flag dropdown for other countries; mobile typography tuned for readability with 16-pixel minimum body text, 1.5 line height, sufficient contrast (WCAG 2.1 AA minimum 4.5:1 on body, 3:1 on large text), and Arabic typography support via Cairo, IBM Plex Sans Arabic or Tajawal for Arabic-language pages; Core Web Vitals targeting on mobile specifically with LCP under 2.5 seconds on a simulated 4G network, INP under 200 milliseconds, and CLS under 0.1, validated via PageSpeed Insights mobile tab and WebPageTest with Moto G Power device profile; image optimisation with mobile-specific srcset delivering smaller assets to mobile bandwidth with WebP and AVIF formats and proper lazy-loading; touch-gesture support where appropriate (swipe carousels with proper momentum scroll, pull-to-refresh on listing pages, swipe-to-dismiss on modals); and progressive web app (PWA) configuration on sites that benefit from add-to-home-screen behaviour including manifest.json, service worker for offline-capable caching, push notification subscription for ecommerce and content sites. Stack and tooling on mobile-first engagements at Azizi Technologies includes Figma with the Iconify and Material Design plugins for mobile component libraries, Adobe XD for clients on Adobe Creative Cloud workflow, Tailwind CSS for utility-first responsive styling with mobile-first breakpoints, React with Next.js or Astro for performant rendering, Webflow for design-led brands wanting team-editable mobile layouts, Shopify Online Store 2.0 with Dawn-forked themes for mobile-first e-commerce, WordPress with Bricks Builder or Blocksy theme for mobile-first WordPress, Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity for mobile session recording validation, BrowserStack for cross-device testing on real iOS Safari and Chrome Android devices not just emulators, Chrome DevTools mobile emulation for rapid iteration, GA4 with mobile-specific dashboards, and Claude Code (Anthropic's AI development tool) for rapid mobile-component scaffolding and accessibility-first markup generation. Claude Code in particular speeds up the tedious responsive-breakpoint refactor work that mobile-first design requires while keeping accessibility and performance high. Real Dubai mobile-first wins from our portfolio - a Studio City beauty salon we redesigned in 2024 from a desktop-first WordPress site to a mobile-first Webflow site saw mobile conversion rate climb from 1.8 percent to 9.4 percent in 90 days, with mobile WhatsApp click-throughs becoming the primary booking channel at 62 percent of total bookings.

A JBR boutique hotel we redesigned in early 2025 with a thumb-zone-optimised mobile booking flow took mobile direct-booking share from 12 percent to 38 percent of total bookings inside 6 months. Arabic mobile design handled with full RTL stylesheet support, mirrored navigation patterns, Arabic-friendly form validation, and proper Arabic numeral handling on phone and price displays.
